Iona becomes a Fairtrade Island.

On 12th January Iona became a Fairtrade Island. To qualify for Fairtrade Island status, Iona had to show that: 1. The local council had passed a resolution supporting fairtrade. 2. Bunessan Primary School has Twinned with Osuwinna Primary School Sri Lanka

After many trials and tribulations and with the help of Helplanka, Bunessan Primary has found the perfect school with which to twin. The school has 84 pupils of primary age, three teachers and is in the village of Tissa which is a fishing village with some tourism.
