Isle of Mull Railway

This railway runs between Craignure ferry terminal and Torosay Castle, some 1¼ miles away. Pulled by either diesel or steam engines, this narrow gauge railway is an ideal way to get from the ferry to Torosay to visit the Castle with its prize winning gardens and woodland walks. Travelling gently along the side of the Sound of Mull, great views of the mainland - Ben Nevis, the hills of Glencoe and Ben Cruachan and the Island of Lismore can be obtained, weather permitting!
For those keen on walking it is possible to walk the 3 miles from Torosay Castle to Duart Castle, home of the McLeans.

The Railway timetable is designed to link with the arrival of the ferries from Oban.
